Surrey County Council delivers high-quality care for service-users with mental health and substance misuse needs. Mental Health services are delivered through the integrated partnership of Surrey County Council and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We currently have vacancies in a various dynamic community settings including the AMHP Frontline Services, Assertive Outreach Teams, Community Forensic Services and other Integrated Community Mental Health Teams. These posts offer an exciting opportunity to help us provide a multi-disciplinary service, raise social work standards, and promote social inclusion within an integrated setting.

We are looking for enthusiastic qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) who can effectively manage complex caseload of clients with severe and enduring mental health needs whilst assessing the social care needs of individuals to deliver comprehensive care plans to meet specific needs.

You will be responsible for undertaking statutory duties and be part of a duty rota for the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) service. We will offer clear vprofessional leadership and great opportunities to develop your career. You will be supported to offer supervision, training and professional development of staff, students and volunteers, and be responsible for your own personal training in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of mental health issues.

To join us, you should have a Professional Qualification in either Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Psychology in addition to Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status, post qualifying experience that should include direct work with those who have mental health needs.

You should have a working knowledge of legislation, assessments, preparation of care plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
